The Honda Research Institute conducted series of visual explorations Heads Up Display for their future generation of cars:
"We are working to bring augmented reality responsibly to drivers using a combined user-centered design and advanced technical research approach... and I'm not just talking about putting the speedometer on the windshield."
- Victor Ng-Thow-Hing, HRI Principal Researcher.
Working from references provided by the Institute, I composited visual elements over live action footage and prototyped a series of various driving scenarios. They include turn by turn directions, road hazards highlights and contextual information. The videos were done in After Effects and helped determine a visual language before implementation into a driving simulator.
